JARREAU WILLIAMS SERVES A TASTEFUL JAM WITH “CHERRY”
Washington, DC - We all remember the days of missed connection postings on Craigslist. Having an electric, spontaneous encounter only to pass like strangers in the night… Wondering if you’ll ever see them again or what you would do given the chance to repeat the moment. How do you remember them? A code name. For award-winning DMV artist Jarreau Williams, “Cherry” is that alias; his latest single debuting on Friday, February 10, 2023.
The inspiration for “Cherry” came from an experience at Tagliata, an Italian restaurant located in Baltimore’s Harbor East/Atlas Quarter. “I was eating dinner at the bar, watching my friends play, minding my business when a young woman sat down next to me. Out of nowhere, she asked me if I was finished eating my bread and asked for a piece. Immediately, I was hooked. Anyone THAT bold and charismatic is worth knowing.” Williams jokes. “She was waiting for her friend and starving. We chatted until she got there and made fun of it; but I never got her name.”
“Cherry” is a certified dance party pop explosion from the first few seconds. The electric instrumentation and hook like harmonies matched with Jarreau’s display of suave to powerhouse vocal range has the makings of a hit you hear on any Netflix show or major commercial. This will have you dancing on Tik Tok in your living rooms.

Virginia-based producer Austin Bello worked on the track with Williams. This is the second collaboration between the duo following the release of “All The Cards” in April 2022. Jarreau vibes strongly with the chemistry they have built. “Austin unlocks a new level of my artistry every time we work together. He’s a lyrical magician matched with his ability to curate a sound that expands the vision of the song is impeccable.” He continues, “I’ve been fortunate to work with some incredible producers the past 5 years and hopefully, this song gets me one step closer to my goals: playing bigger stages and finding love.”
The 4x Wammie Award winner and 2x Telly Award winner has created a lane for himself in the Pop/R&B/Hip-Hop realm as one of the DMV’s brightest stars. “Cherry” is available on all streaming platforms on February 10th.
