Thank you for visiting my website! I am Jarreau Williams, a 23 year old native of Alexandria, Virginia. I would like to give all praise to God and my Savior, Jesus Christ, for blessing me with the opportunity to pursue and live my dreams. To my family, friends, teachers, and mentors: Thank you for your unwavering faith and support through all of my obstacles and successes.
The inspiration to pursue a career in entertainment began when I was two years old. I would restlessly watch Disney movies until I knew all of the lines and songs. Disney and Michael Jackson were huge influences on my life because they truly possessed the ability to captivate audiences and bring magic to life. Jackson’s ideas were limitless, his talents extraordinary, and the potential to inspire others astronomical. The creativity, imagination, and pure joy of providing entertainment to all ages are aspects of the arts that attracted me at an early age.
My love for acting, singing, and performing were undeniable; but the dream to pursue a career in entertainment was realized at T.C. Williams High School where I was nominated for a Cappie Award for ‘Best Featured Actor in a Musical’ for my role as Nicely-Nicely Johnson in “Guys and Dolls”. The distinguished honor of being nominated by my peers was a very special moment for me and one that I will continuously treasure.
After graduating from Virginia Tech with degrees in Psychology (2009) and Theatre Arts (2010), I have since relocated back home to the Washington, DC area. Currently, I work as a Paraprofessional at Kimball Elementary School and an Usher at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. As an educator, I aim to encourage and motivate the students using my artistic talents. As an usher, I am surrounded by the thing I love most. My persistence to network and pursue my dream has never been stronger and I am confident that one day my ultimate passion will be my eternal occupation.
As Dr. Kenneth Black said best, “Once you are doing what you love the most for a living, you will never work a day in your life”. I pray everyone finds love, hope, faith, and happiness in whatever you aspire to be. Once again, thank you for ALL of your support. God Bless.
